Other name:wort clarifying agent
This product is carrageenan processed from red algae Irish moss, which is a high molecular weight D-galactose pyranose sulfate (potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium) and 3, 6-dehydrated semi-straight chain polymer.
The main component of wort clarifying agent is a natural polymer compound ----- carrageenan extracted from Marine red algae, which is processed by special production technology and specially used for wort clarifying in beer production.
Carrageenan is a kind of electronegative polymer rich in sulfate group lipids and A glucan. It is easy to polymerize with the positive electric protein in wort to form a tightly bonded electroneutral polymer, and can quickly precipitate from the wort to form a fine precipitated residue. Therefore, this product does not enter the finished beer and is a safe process additive.
